As we prepared for our Disney trip and continue to look ahead to our West trip later this year, we are trying to find ways to save space both in the camper and our van. The most obvious way is to reduce what we take with us and to be very intentional about what we do bring. But for the rest of the “stuff,” creative ways to store them is a top priority!
For Christmas the kiddos received a car DVD system, so they were excited to watch some of their favorite Disney movies as we made our way to Florida. But I didn’t want to cart a whole bunch of DVD cases along with us.
So we rustled up an old CD case and I slipped the DVDs in. A stack of 15 DVDs fits–with room to spare–in this trim-line case:
This is how we plan to bring DVDs for our West trip as well, and it is going to free up a ton of space in the cupboard! We also like to listen to music and books on tape in the car, so I plan to use another CD case to organize those for the trip.
As we find new ways to reduce and store things in the camper, we will highlight them as part of our “Space Saving Strategies” series. So stay tuned for more ideas! In the meantime, you can check out this related post: Conquer Camper Cupboards.
What a simple, yet brilliant tip!
Hi Denise–thanks for stopping by and reading! Glad the tip was helpful–we are still using this system and it’s been a huge space saver for us. Happy camping! 🙂
