Howdy! We’re Jarrett and Kristin and we are so glad you stopped by! If you’re here, you’re probably interested in learning more about how RVing and travel can help you create family connections one adventure at a time. A few years ago we realized we only had about 10 summers left before our daughter headed off to college. The sinking realization of how fast the years were passing made us realize that if we didn’t get intentional about creating family connections in those remaining years, we might miss those opportunities all together. And thus our RVing bucket list and dream grew.
Although we are not full-timers, we homeschool our kids, Kristin works remotely, and Jarrett operates on an educator’s calendar, which thankfully has given us a lot of flexibility to travel with our children. And all three of them are reaping the benefits on this incredible travel journey while we cultivate connections we hope will last a lifetime. For more about the story behind our journey, visit our About Us page.
But enough about us, we want to talk about you and how this site can help you start plotting your own journey of creating family connections one RV (or travel) adventure at a time! To get you started, we thought a quick tour of the new website would be helpful so you’ll know just where to find what you’re looking for:
Under the Family Travel tab we’ve filed all of our web posts that offer travel inspiration, including places to visit, travel tips, and trip planning tools to help you plot your next adventure.
Under the RV Life tab, you’ll find camping/RVing recipe ideas, RV ministry opportunities, and helpful posts related to the “how-tos” of RVing. Some of our most popular posts from this category include tips for organizing your camper and the best sugar & spice campfire donut recipe.
Under the Campground Reviews tab we have all of our campground reviews organized by state. If you are looking for campground suggestions that are connected to our family-fun guides, then this is the place to explore.
Under the DIY & Renovation tab we have links to the many different camper modifications we’ve done over the years, tips and tutorials for camper upkeep, as well as details about our latest project: the renovation of a 1976 Silver Streak camper named Tilley.
And finally, under the Shop tab you’ll find links to our favorite RVing and camping gear. We also have some ideas we’ve been pondering behind the scenes, and so this portion will still be under construction for a bit.
So that’s a quick tour of the new site. We generally post one new web piece a week, but if you’d like daily updates from us, be sure to subscribe to our social media channels, which include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. We also invite you to subscribe to our email newsletter—when you do you’ll get access to a free printable planning pack! The link to subscribe is at the top of the page. (Don’t worry: We won’t spam you. I use the email newsletters as a way of letting readers know about upcoming giveaways and other fun information related to The Touring Camper.)
Thanks again for stopping by! We are so thankful for each of you who read our posts and share your time with us. If you’ve enjoyed what you find here, please help spread the word among your friends and family so we can build a community of travelers who are working together to build family connections one RV adventure at a time!
Happy camping!
Kristin and Jarrett
