Our visit to Kiasutha Campground near Kane, Pa., will not go down in our camping history as one of our favorite trips. The right loop has some very nice shaded sites that are on an asphalt road, but getting big RVs and fifth wheels into this side of the campground would be challenging due to overhanging limbs. The left loop has a few full hookup sites. This is a good thing given my wife’s restroom standards, because the only way we would stay here again is if it were in a full hook-up site since the bathrooms were not in great condition during our short stay. We actually packed up and left after only one night–and moved to Chapman State Park. Due to our short stay I neglected to snap a few bathroom pictures.
Other observations during our brief stay:
- The playground was very outdated;
- The beach area was nice, but the bathrooms were not clean there either;
- If you had a boat to go on the Allegheny Reservoir (unlimited horsepower) there was a nice boat launch in the campground.
For those interested in checking the campground out for themselves, it is ideally located in the Allegheny National Forest with access to the Allegheny Reservoir. The campground offers water-front campsites with a nearby beach and boat launch.
