Interstate RV Park in Davenport, Iowa, was a one-night stop for us as we made on our way east back across the Heartland. Since this was a stopover for us we did not do any touring of the area* but if we were going to stay for more than one night in the area we would most likely look for different accommodations since it is located right off the freeway next to what appeared to be a light industry park.
(*If there had been time, we would have loved to have headed about an hour and a half north to Dyersville, Iowa, home of the famous Field of Dreams.)
Campground: The Interstate RV Park campground is mostly “permanent” campers with a limited number of daily sites. The campground had some peculiar set-ups. We were relieved that another camper did not pull in the site directly behind us (we were in Site 24) because it would have made it impossible for us to fit on our site and still reach the hookups, which were located in strange places. A couple sites over from us there were two campers that were parked bumper to bumper in order to fit on the sites!
Bathrooms: The bathrooms were well-maintained and clean. To use the bathrooms, campers had to use the key-code provided at check-in.
Amenities: The campground had a movie rental option in the office, but we did not have time to check it out further. We did take the kids over to the pool to let them burn off some steam after a long day in the car. At the time of our visit, the pool closed for the day at 7 p.m. when the office closed. The campground had a nice laundry facility, and the dryers were free to use.
Date of visit: 7/15
