At the beginning of the year we launched this “Favorite Things” series as a way to highlight some of the fun things going on behind the scenes here at The Touring Camper. We try to post daily over on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, but a lot of what we post on social media we never get a chance to share on the blog. So here are some of our favorite moments from June:
1. Our PA Wilds trip
Our family had such an amazing time exploring the Pennsylvania Wilds with stops at Sinnemahoning, Leonard Harrison, Ole Bull (review coming soon!), and Chapman State Park. We scoped out the Elk County Visitor’s Center, the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum, the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, and the Zippo museum. We also had a blast biking, geocaching, fishing, and just generally exploring our beautiful home state.
2. Yummy new camp food
We’ve recently been on the hunt for more gluten-free campfire meals (one of our children has food sensitivities), and these two–a mexican pizza and waffles–were a big hit with the kiddos. Look for more details about both recipes coming soon here at The Touring Camper.
3. Cool camper decor
When I spotted this “adventure” pillow at Walmart I knew it would be perfect for our camper couch. It adds a fun splash of color to that corner. 🙂
4. More Aldi finds!
I needed a bigger cooler to keep in the camper (our old one is now too small for a family of five), but I wanted something that would fold down and not take up a lot of space in my camper cupboards. So when I spotted this collapsible cooler basket at Aldi this week, I was like, “SCORE!” I’ve been hitting the jackpot at Aldi lately!
So what were your favorite things of June? You can share in the comment section below.
Did you enjoy this peek into our month at home and on the road? To get more weekly updates like these, be sure to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter where we share glimpses into our everyday life.
I grabbed the last hydration pack thing at our Aldi the other day! I meant to get there earlier after I saw your posts about the camping stuff there on instagram. ah well. maybe next time!
Glad you snagged one! 🙂 Next summer they might have more–Aldi tends to have some products come back seasonally–at least we can hope. 🙂
