Why the name The Touring Camper?
We love to travel, enjoying museums, parks, outdoor recreation, local towns, festivals, local cuisine, and much more along the way. Additionally, we have always loved to camp, which is a much cheaper alternative compared to staying in a hotel, bed and breakfast, cabin, etc. When we decided to start the website we wanted a simple way to communicate how this camping website would be different from other sources. Thus, a merger of two things we love: camping and touring–The Touring Camper.
How did you decide on your tow vehicle and camper combinations?

TheTouringCamper.com can not be all things to all campers. We have tried to include those aspects of a campground that we use to determine if we would return to a campsite in the future. More about our philosophy of reviewing campsites can be found on our About Campground Reviews page.
Where are you camping next?
For the privacy of our family we will not announce our trips in advance. However, if you have an idea or suggestion for one of our future trips, please use the Contact Us page to send us an email. We do not promise to visit, but we will definitely consider it for a future trip. Please keep in mind that we usually plan our trips at least 10 months to a year in advance, so it may be a while before you see a recommended location appear in our reviews.

Our overviews of campgrounds and the surrounding region are just that–an overview. Our goal is to give you enough information and pictures to help you determine if you are interested in visiting a particular campground and region. We will not be able to cover every aspect, but we aim to highlight those areas we believe our readers are most interested in.
Often when we stay someplace we wish we had several days (weeks/months) to explore more things in that area. When this is the case, the location will go back on our list of places we hope to return. So if we missed something, feel free to use the Contact Us page to send us an email and we will hopefully be able to check it out on our next trip. Also please keep in mind that we do travel with our children and there are times when Kristin and I would really love to tour a place but we can not do so with three kiddos in tow.
